A day at the Zoo

Sunday Pat and I took Maverick to the Zoo. My mom's work was having a family fun day and it was free everything. Who could pass up a free day of fun?!! Brooke and her family were going to go with but the older 2 boys had football so Pat and I took Maverick all by himself! Here are some of the things we did and saw It was a really fun day! Maverick hid from Pat and I when we stopped at the playground. He got a little upset with us b/c he thought we were laughing at him but we weren't. He kept asking if everything was safe to go on. It was really cute and funny! He's really safe conscious now.

Here is the momma and the baby camel-The baby was born on June 7th!

Maverick's wing span was 3'5"-the size of a peregrine falcon

It was a tad chilly and we got sprinkled on at times but all in all it was a fantastic day!!

Maverick on the pony ride all by himself. He wanted me by is side before it started moving then wanted me to go away after he realized it didnt go fast. He did tell me that he felt like a cowboy and all he needed was boots and a hat! He was soo funny.

Cute ducks in the coi pond. There were so many fish in there and they were HUGE! I was too excited feeding them to get a picture-it was my favorite part of the zoo!

This elephant is 40 yrs old! And the one in the back is 34.

Maverick and me on the merry go round-I get sick on rides and I thought for sure I was going to hurl on this. Pat should have taken one for the team and road with him!! But he sat on the bench and took pictures instead :)

A baby giraffe- they are really cute and I didnt even zoom on this-that's how close you are to them.

Nice try Spencer but your built like your Uncle Erik and Uncle Pat! His muscles look like tiny little bumps!! It's sweet!
He is growing up fast though! Oh and he is now officially taller than me. Well at least the little nephews still have to look up to me!

Mike and I-he was in town for two weeks-I only saw him one day but we made the most of it-Sunday Funday!! No one goes to the bars on Sunday nights here-I guess I never knew that. Hmm weird that I didnt know that. Maybe because we always start early on Sundays and never make it past 9pm!!

Me, Brooke, and Aunt Meredee-dont mind the way we look we were in the pool all day and drinking at night! That might explain the huge smile on Meredee's face or it could be that she's so happy to see her favorite nieces!

guess where...

I get to go for work the last week this month?!!! You guessed it Madison, WI! I'm pretty exctited about going but I will really miss my husband. I cry when I leave him for the weekend-no joke you can ask my sisters I don't know why I do but I do. I get to go the whole week to help them hire for the new Hy-Vee that is opening up on October. I have never been to Madison but I hear it's really pretty. I'm excited to go also because my friend Courtney will be moving and working up there. At least I will know one person, we've already got plans to sight see together! Work pays for food, travel, and the hotel-not bad for a week of work! I'll call this a mini vacation since it's not an actual one being my husband isn't going to be with me!
