2 months!

Well Miss Emery is already 2 months old! She is growing so fast. Most days I still can't believe that I'm a mom. It's weird. But what everyone says is true...you never know how much you can love something until you have kids. Here are some things about Emy at 2 months

She got her 2nd set of shots on Monday (the first ones being antibiotics on her last day in the NICU) She cried and so did I. It was so sad seeing her helpless and knowing that she is going to be in pain and there is nothing I could do. She weighs 12lbs 6 oz and is now 24 in long. The doctor told me she was doing very well in the growing department!
She holds her head up very well
She rolls over on her side and just recently when I check on her in bed I find her on her side.
She follows Pats and my voice around.
She likes to be propped up and looking around
She is starting to grab ahold of her toys when she is on the floor on her toy mat.
She loves getting kisses from Tally and has never cried or whined when she lickes her.
She is sleeping through the night. She goes to bed between 8-9 everynight and wakes between 4-5 in the morning. I sometimes get lucky and she sleeps until 5:30-6 but typically we are already up getting ready for the day since mommy has to go to work at 7 every morning. We have to be out the door no later than 6:20 every morning.
She is a happy baby or atleast I think she is!
I get greeted with a smile every morning when I get her out of bed.
She coos and "talks" to me too throughout the day.
She loves her Daddy
Her hair is getting alittle longer-after her bath it gets really fuzzy and cute.

We are taking her camping for the first time this weekend. I am scared and alittle excited! I am most worried about the bugs. Nothing else really just the bugs. But I think I am prepared. She's going to have to get used to camping so we might as well start her young!

Welcome!!

Introducing...Baby Blake!!
Blake John Estlund was born on Sunday June 27th at 11:15pm. He was 8 lbs 5 oz and 20 inches long. He is super cute and just perfect(well almost) He has a ton of black hair and a very distinguished nose! Check out his mohawk! you might have to look close!

And another shot of him. He is unfortunately going to be in the NICU for 14 days since he was born with meningitis. But the doctors say he is reponding really well to the antibiotics. They have him on an IV also so he can get his fluids but dr says that if he starts to eat more they can take him off the IV. So he goes round 2 for the NICU for our family in just 2 months. It sucks but there is nothing we can do. Now lets just pray that Janelle's baby doesn't end up there too.

Blue Grass Days

We went to Blue Grass days over the weekend with Janelle's family. It was a good time. It was rainy off and on and completely muddy so there was hardly anyone there. Pat was in the mood for fair food and got his wish! The kiddos rode some rides and the men played some good old carnival games. Here's a few pictures from it. Evelyn loved all the little rides. This surprised me because she's usually a scaredy cat when it comes to this stuff.

This is actually a boy! WTF who wears that. We did not know this boy but if we had I'm sure he a) would not be wearing pants tighter than mine and b) would be crying bc of how bad we would be laughing at him.

Binky

Oh the dreaded Binky!! Pat and I did not want to use a binky but fell victim to it while she was in the NICU. I will not let us be those parents that let their 3 year old still use a binky. She does not take it all the time just when she is tired and bedtime. Most of the time she spits it out. But I am not writing this post about my hate of binky's I am writting it because I have had 2 funny things said to me about this particular binky in her mouth.

The first funny story comes from Adam- I was sitting in Janelles basement feeding my child keep in mind that I am breastfeeding, when Adam comes through the door. I hurry and cover myself up and get situated and give Emery her binky until Adam leaves. well he sees her and says wow that's a neat binky what do you do just stick your nipple inside it and she eats?!!
Really Adam??!! How large would my nipple have to be to do that?!

Story number 2- Maverick is holding Emery and she is starting to get alittle fussy so I put her binky in her mouth and then go about what I was doing. I go back to where they are sitting a few minutes later bc she starts to fuss again. Well Maverick looks up at me and says " I just dont know what finger I am supposed to put in the hole" Again too funny! He was unable to keep it in her mouth.

This and That

Picnic at the park- Last weekend Pat suggested a picnic at Vanderveer Park. It was really hot but I'm so glad we went. We ended up staying there for over 2 hours I love people watching! We found a huge tree and it wasnt that bad in the shade. Pat decided to take a family photo which does not flatter anyone in it! Oh well!

Memorial day weekend at the cabin. This is unfortunately the only picture I have from that weekend. It wasnt the same with a baby we only went out Sunday instead of the whole weekend because it was way too buggy. The future mr& mrs. Maverick and MaKayla. They are so cute and play so well together.

Too Funny

I was babysitting Evelyn and Maverick last week and one morning while I was in the bathroom getting ready Evelyn got ahold of the camera. I dont know how she got it to video but she did! It was super funny when I went back and looked! Check it out for yourself!! You can also see Emery sleeping in her swing in the back ground.
