new hobby

Anyone that knows my mom knows she loves to make baskets and knows she has a ton of them everywhere in her house. She has baskets for everything you can think of. Well in the last few years all of us kids finally started realizing sharing her love for them. We ask for baskets all the time. When it's Christmas I think we all secretly hope for one of the big ones! Well in October I received one from my mom's friend Rosie for my wedding. That got me interested in making them too. My mom used to make a new one every month but stopped going for awhile. Well we started going in November and now I have successfully made two of the bigger baskets myself. They dont look as good as my mom's and Rosies but I will get better with time! The first picture shows both baskets I've made- a laudry basket which I use for blankets and the second one is a waste basket.

really bummed

I am going crazy b/c I do not have a camera to take any pictures of things that have been happening in the last month. Not too much has happened though so I guess no ones really missing out on much. The last month has been so cold I havent wanted to leave the house! I really want to take the 4-wheelers to the cabin but riding in this weather would not even be fun. It's like 10 degrees then you factor in the wind chill 15 miles/hour(at least) then you add in how fast we go that = freezing! So I am just going to have to wait until it gets alittle warmer. Janelle and I are going to the Brad Paisley concert on Friday so that should be fun and Janelle will have her camera so I should have pics to post then. Maverick did the funniest/grossest thing on Saturday. Brooke's family and mine went to Rookies to eat lunch and Maverick's belly started to hurt so he laid his head down on Brookes lap. Well I looked down at him like 5 minutes later and I saw that he had gum sticking out of his mouth. Then I noticed that the gum was attached to the table! Yes folks Maverick put someone elses nasty gum that they stuck under the table in his mouth! I almost died laughing really?!!! Brooke was like how do I disinfect his mouth?!! It was by far the nastiest thing I have seen in a long time. I finally got wedding pictures back but I dont have a scanner to copy them onto my computer so those will have to wait. I will be getting a cd soon so those will be up sometime.

Another engagement!!

My good friend Nicole got engaged to her boyfriend Billy on the 24th! Congrats to the both of you! She is planning a September/October wedding! Another year full of weddings! It's going to be a good one!

Pat's Christmas Party

Pat's work Christmas party was a few weeks ago and it was really fun! They have it at a little bar in Bettendorf. He only works with a few other guys-one bing my brother Erik. There is usually around 20 people because of the spouses that come. This is Frog-the warehouse custodian-I guess that's what you would call him. Adam gives him work in exchange for beer and cigarettes. He gets paid by the hour too! How Adam meet him I have no idea! Layla-my brother Eriks wife

Katlyn's 25th Birthday Party!

So this party was a lot of fun and I loved that Kat had a theme for her party! Some of the guys complained about getting all dressed up-No Jeans were allowed-but it gave me and my sister a reason to buy a cute black dress!

The Elks throws a Christmas Party every year for the kids. Since I am a member I got to help out with party. They had crafts, face painting, food , and gifts for all the kids. It was a really good turnout around 60 kids total. each kid left with a gift card for Wal-Mart.
